Data Management

Like us, data ages, as do spreadsheets, applications, procedures and even physical data storage.

Or rather they stand still and everything around them moves on, idears, assumptions and especialy all those "I'll remember that and not document it properly" caveats.

Wrinkles creep in over time, little incompatibilities, old assumptions become not quite valid, small adjustments you thought would be so easy to make by hand get forgotten.

Sometimes whole chunks of data can vanish but not be missed especially in spreadsheets and compound or linked documents.

Not forgetting the ever-present threat of well meaning finger trouble and the unexpected side effects of novice programmers.

Data in archives and on backup devices can degrade and become unreliable. Either through physical decay, application changes or new hardware being not 100% compatible.

Updates and changes in applications that you use can sometimes make older data hard or impossible to access.

Sometimes finding the data and being able to prove it is what you think it is can be a problem. If a device became unreadable or a computer failed would you actualy know what data you had lost ?

There are ever more statuary requirements from government bodies, trade bodies and all sorts of other sources, even just customer expectation that can change the way you need to manage and document your current and historical data.

We can look through your systems and the way you use them. Report on the current and likely future problems. Show what benefits could be possible from developments, streamlining and making systems robust and easy to use and audit.

Let us suggest possible plans for the future.
